Propulsion & Future Fuels to highlight Energy Efficiency existing Ship Index (EEXI)

Taking place in Hamburg, Germany from the 2-4 November 2021, the Propulsion & Future Fuels Conference is set to welcome a host of speakers offering advice, knowledge and information on how companies can meet increasing industry restrictions, specifically regarding the impacts of EEXI.

During session one of the conference Jan Wienke, Principal Engineer, DNV will begin the discussion on EEXI, with a session covering the ‘Impact of CII and EEXI on uptake of alternative marine fuels’. Mike Konstantinidis, CEO, METIS will follow to review ‘Predictive evaluation of existing ships as low emission investments’.

Sunil Krishnakumar, Senior Technical Manager, International Chamber of Shipping will continue the session to discuss 'Meeting the IMO GHG targets through EEXI and CII - The Shipowners’ perspective.' With Nicolas Duchêne, Chief Operating Officer & VP Technical, Verifavia & Verifavia Shipping, concluding with the topic 'EEXI and CII - Insights and Solutions'.

Following November 2020's hugely successful Propulsions and Future fuels live session. Lars Robert Pedersen, Deputy Secretary General, BIMCO; Harry Conway, Vice Chairman, IMO MEPC; Bud Darr, Executive Vice President, MSC, Claus Graugaard, Head of On-board Vessel Solutions, Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center, Christopher Fee, General Manager, Oldendorf Carriers and Wolfram Guntermann, Director Regulatory Affairs, Hapag -Lloyd AG will join together again as the keynote panel to discuss the European Emissions Trading Scheme.

The Conference will also welcome a ‘Today's alternative fuels & lubricants’ panel discussion with speakiers including Frank Harteveld, General Manager Sales & Strategic Development, Fuel Gas Supply Systems - Wärtsilä; Serge Dal-Farra, Marketing Director - Lubmarine, Andreas Lingens, CEO - Woodward L´Orange GmbH and Charlotte Røjgaard, Global Head of Bureau Veritas, VeriFuel - Bureau Veritas.

A range of international speakers will also present at the conference to discuss key topics including: Wind Assisted propulsion, LNG’s evolution, Methanol, Ammonia and Hydrogen and fuel cells.

Delegates will be able to learn, discuss and share the latest developments in efficient power and propulsion technology, alternative low flashpoint and low carbon fuels with key industry figures.
